The Borough of Far Hills was incorporated in 1921 and is in the northern part of Somerset County. Far Hills only covers an area of about 5 square miles and according to the 2010 US Census is comprised of about 919 residents. Bordering Bedminster, Bernards Township, Bernardsville, and Peapack-Gladstone, Far Hills shares a school system with Bernardsville and a public library, fire department and first aid squad with Bedminster.
Far Hills is home to the Annual Far Hills Steeplechase, Leonard J. Buck Garden botanical garden, and Natural and estate that spans an area of 491 acres that was sold in 2003 by Mohammed VI, King of Morocco, the the Somerset County Park Commission.
Far Hills has easy access to Routes 287, 202, and 78, with only about a 40 minute drive to Newark International Airport. The Far Hills Train Station offers easy access to Manhattan.
