Mendham A tranquil community in northwest Morris Township

Mendham is a small borough located in Morris County, New Jersey. It is situated in the eastern part of the state, about 40 miles west of New York City. The borough has a population of about 5,000 people and covers an area of about 10 square miles. 

Mendham was originally settled in the late 17th century and was officially incorporated as a borough in 1906. The borough has a rich history, with many historic houses and landmarks that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Mendham is home to several popular attractions, including the Brookside Community Club, which is a popular spot for swimming and other recreational activities. The borough is also home to the Black River.  Mendham is surrounded by beautiful countryside, making it a great place for outdoor enthusiasts. There are several parks and trails in the area, including the Lewis Morris County Park, which offers hiking, fishing, and picnicking opportunities. Mendham has a small but vibrant downtown area, with several local shops and restaurants. Some popular spots include the Mendham Deli and the Mendham Creamery. Mendham hosts several events and festivals throughout the year, including the Mendham Borough Community Day, which is held annually in September. The borough also hosts a farmers market on Sundays during the summer months. 

Mendham is conveniently located near major highways, including Route 24 and Route 287. The borough is also served by several local bus routes and is about a 50-minute drive from Newark Liberty International Airport.  Commuters traveling via public transportation can drive to the Morristown station to access New Jersey Transit Midtown Direct express train line into Midtown Manhattan.

Public school students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade attend the Mendham Township Public Schools. The district, comprised of two schools, Mendham Township Elementary Schools Pre-K–4 and Mendham Township Middle School grades 5–8.

Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend West Morris Mendham High School, which is located in Mendham Borough and serves students from Chester Borough, Chester Township, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township. The school is part of the West Morris Regional High School District, which also serves students from Washington Township at West Morris Central High School Mendham Township.

Mendham is a charming borough with a rich history and a welcoming community. It is a great place to visit or call home, with plenty of opportunities for shopping, dining, and outdoor recreation.
