Mendham A tranquil community in northwest Morris Township
Mendham is a small borough located in Morris County, New Jersey. It is situated in the eastern part of the state, about 40 miles west of New York City. The borough has a population of about 5,000 people and covers an area of about 10 square miles.
Mendham was originally settled in the late 17th century and was officially incorporated as a borough in 1906. The borough has a rich history, with many historic houses and landmarks that date back to the 18th and 19th centuries. Commuters traveling via public transportation can drive to the Morristown station to access New Jersey Transit Midtown Direct express train line into Midtown Manhattan.
Public school students in pre-kindergarten through eighth grade attend the Mendham Township Public Schools. The district, comprised of two schools, Mendham Township Elementary Schools Pre-K–4 and Mendham Township Middle School grades 5–8.
Students in public school for ninth through twelfth grades attend West Morris Mendham High School, which is located in Mendham Borough and serves students from Chester Borough, Chester Township, Mendham Borough and Mendham Township. The school is part of the West Morris Regional High School District, which also serves students from Washington Township at West Morris Central High School Mendham Township.
